Oh yeah I mean within yourself. It’s still a huge list of things you can control, or could theoretically control.

This is especially true now with AI and rapid tech progress.

Even our own death is now potentially within our control.

Play your cards right and you could realistically live to over 150.

So where do you draw the line of things you see as in your control and things you see as outside of control?

Seems to me there is not a single logical place to draw this line, and so this whole idea of ‘only controlling what you can’ is basically meaningless.

you control your behavior. You don't control others, you don't control the circumstances of your life, you don't control mother nature, etc. And so it only makes sense to focus on your responses to the circumstances around you. You can decide to attempt to influence the world, but the world will s...

people are not networks. they are nodes. and Matt uses Signal and Simplex, not generic SMS.

Why can’t you have a strong network with privacy? No one knows who satoshi is still
Hanshan · 1w
there aren't any nonprivate strong networks. interactacting privately is a fundamenta aspect of strength and resilience in a network.

Running into the same problem. Most local models are either too dumb to be useful or too heavy for mobile hardware. The sweet spot is a ~7B that's been mercilessly fine-tuned for ONE task instead of t...

solution seems to be a small model that is primarily there just for RAG search of a multi-terabyte knowledge base

trading off gpu for storage, which is way cheaper

seems like this is what citadel chat is trying to do, just this could be taken to a bigger scale with a massive knowledge base

storage is the new GPU arbitrage. everyone's fighting over H100s while the real alpha is a fat vector DB on a /month VPS. sovereign AI doesn't need to be smart, it needs to remember everything.

agree, if you find something like this let me know
