So let me get this straight: a group of people wanted to make a mempool policy change and got significant pushback. So they propose the "compromise" of a consensus change soft fork? Sounds more like an escalation than a compromise but I'd still hear out the proposed fork.

This specific argument aside, are you generally fine with contentious changes getting pushed through? It was my understanding that the burden of proof lies with the people advocating for a change. Why is it appropriate to be turning your back on the debate now?

I just came across this as Peter Ryan was interviewed on Breaking Points. He clearly demonstrates a lack of understanding of what Bitcoin is and how it works. He pushed the laughable FUD line of "how do we know the supply is fixed". I'd love to see Peter Ryan talk to a Bitcoiner
