@nprofile1q... I dunno, it feels like the "implementation" of a template class should go in the cpp file., not the hpp file? The idea of a class which has only an hpp, and no cpp seems... odd?

@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... one of the “most proud” moments at IBM was converting multiple teams to using LaTeX for all our customer documents. The learning curve wasn’t very steep since I build some classes and such to simplify things. We also (dear god this is painful) fed Rational Software Architect docs into a Python script that generated all of the diagrams and documentation we often had to provide to customers.

This was going on for 8 years.

@nprofile1q... yeah, I'd expect that to be the TIR spec on something like that. That's the thing that gets you. Even vibration is gonna be rough, even with air bearings... so you need something VERY solid. Composite granite most likely. And you're back to how good are your linear bearings? Motor positioning?

Tolerance stacking is hell.

@nprofile1q... Closer to F1 grade at that speed! Probably some fancy labyrinth seals and such as well. Would love a cross-section of it. Not many parts, but all of them have to be effectively perfect.

@nprofile1q... oh yeah, although honestly $5k is a bargain for that kind of performance level. Probably cost you $2500 to just buy bearings that can run like that.

@nprofile1q... yeah, crazy stuff... I've only used their little die grinders (both air and electric). They're brilliant. I keep an ebay search open for them. But they typically only show up with 100V and I guess I could use my Sencore, but...

@nprofile1q... yeah, you might want to look. They use an 1/8" collet. But have other options available. More an ER-11 style.
