They're coming either way. I'm interested in learning how they become useful and well behaved.

Was running Knots so I could mine to Datum with my #Bitaxe until recently. I switched to Core now as I subscribe to @Jameson Lopp 's view that you can't censor spam, you can only incentivize it's obsolescence. Change my mind! #Core

But that goes back to the original point. Can xmr actually transfer value if no one holds the tokens?

I agree. But have you seen the latest price action? Where I still have some doubts is around the software. We're only a few months away from the Cubic attack. The network has survived but how resistant is it without pow? Regarding useage, it is being used. That's why I'm bullish personnally. I met with some of the community last summer, a lot of former bitcoiners who despise btc now for the institutionnal adoption and the departure from the original ethos. Regarding tokenomics, I understand Monero is inflationary in order to pay the miners but it's a low inflation number. From that standpoint btc definitely has the advantage, as well as the network effect. But I expect privacy to become more and more important and valued. We still need wider adoption, for both BTC and Monero imho.
