That's Elisjsha Dicken. In 2022, some nut started shooting up a mall in Indiana with an AR-15. Mr. Dicken drew his concealed pistol and dropped the guy from 40 yds. He's an American hero.

Everyone underestimates how long these catastrophes can be kicked down the road.
True. I clearly recall people freaking out about the national debt hitting $6T in the early 2000's. I went and cashed out my savings bonds before they became worthless.

Made structures degradable too. Added hunting. Predators come out at night raid your settlement if you leave livestock unprotected. Winter and snow bring ice fishing but you gotta chop that ice first.
You drill the ice. If it's thin enough to chop, you're probably going to fall through. Which sucks, trust me.
