On the one end people are being priced out of running web services due to hardware shortages caused by AI, on the other end those who still run web services are being bled dry by AI scrapers essentially stealing compute.

Sadly I'm not at #ArcTanGent this year. Between moving countries and not knowing most of the bands on the lineup I figured I'd skip it, but I do miss it. I ended up getting into Chelsea Wolfe anyway.

After hearing feedback from people struggling with #Mastodon’s layout and navigation for a long time I’m really looking forward to these changes. And I’m really impressed with the work @nprofile1q... has put into researching user needs with surveys, interviews, and round tables. I feel like the community has never been so represented in the design process before. The screenshots are marked “in progress” for a reason though—it’s a process.

I’ve been dealing with #PPWR compliance for Mastodon’s merch shop and frankly I don’t see how this regulation doesn’t just eradicate all small business within the EU. This is a self-goal if I’ve ever seen one.

Doorknobs are the work of the devil, designed only to make people suffer. "Yes, I would like to apply inordinate force on a small slippery sphere" -- statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged.

This bothers me in almost every contemporary production.
