Oscar Vermeulen is working on a new thing. Something about #arpanet
Do your parents know you're playing C++ which is rated PEGI-45?
I just realized I started typing MISRA style C code in my hobby project. Time to look for another job?
Just kidding. In these times, it's pretty sweet to have a gig working on carefully hand crafted safety critical code.

I need to install an OS on a 2016 ASUS laptop. What meets these criteria?

@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... Countless MIT AI memos were typeset using TJ6, and printed on the XGP. The whole process can be run on emulators: https://github.com/larsbrinkhoff/ai-memo-reprints

Ohh, I had completely blocked out my memories of PUB 😆 very traumatic.

@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... PUB seems to have enjoyed a period of popularity at SAIL and MIT, but was supplanted by SCRIBE and TeX.
MIT also had an in-house version of roff called R, written in C.
Lisp machine documentation was written in Bolio which was written in Maclisp. The name was a play on the ice cream store Emack & Bolio's, obviously referring to a certain text editor.

Super neat! All I need now is a Diablo Printer with at least 3 different print wheels...
@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... I was about to ask, does the book cover TJ6, PUB, and SCRIBE? Originating at MIT, Stanford, and CMU, respectively, but ported between the sites.

@nprofile1q... I think Michael Speciner was also involved in LIFE on the PDP-6.
Excuse you some of us are both.

@nprofile1q... I cherish my thousand abandoned hobbies, I just don't have time for them all and that's fine.
Yesterday Josh Dersch and Jason Perkins stopped by to do some fan maintenance on MissPiggy and power up the Nova-3. Thank you for your volunteer hours! https://icm.museum

@nprofile1q... You did something with your hair since I last saw you in 2019. Slay!
@nprofile1q... @nprofile1q... I see you made a hardware modification. In the original installation all boxes were upside down.
