Bitcoin will ultimatly fail because too many high time prefrence NGU retards came in, and instead of thinking "how can I self custody, how can i run a full node", They only thought about how they could shill it harder and easier to normies so NGU can go up faster.
Hence paper bitcoin.
Hence publicly traded mining companies.
All abandonment of former cypherpunk principles for high time prefrence interest payments and NGU. August 8th was just exposing how this phenomenon has made its way into every facet of the protocol.
I have been a fan of monero for a very long time, but now its time to break fucking glass.
Instead of being the liferaft bitcoiners claimed it was, it became so bolted onto the sinking fiat ship that now its going down too.
All to make it easier for grandma to buy in her brokerage account so number would go up faster, fucking disgraceful.
This is why I am buying monero, because the fiat suitcucks wont touch it with a 10 foot pole. And if grandma wants to buy some she can figure it the fuck out.
The bip110 changes are only going to be the begining of cleaning the shitcoin cestpool that are bitcoin blocks.
The hardfork just make it infinitly easier now that sovereign bitcoiners (plebs) dont have to continually argue with shitcoiners about not shitcoining on bitcoin.
I fundamentally disagree. To me it's a matter of priority. Monero doesnt have arbitrary data littered into transactions and the new bitcoin hardfork won't either.
To me it's about trusting the network to prioritize future full nodes, and I dont believe core and the industry built around bitcoin cares much about sovereignty and future indiviuals who demand it.
To me this has been the equilivant of the decoupling event of the dollar with gold. Without the gold you will lose the trust that was built over a timeframe. I have no idea what that timeframe to be.
I personally wont hold wealth in something that I think will be losing trust instead of gaining it overtime.
Network effects wont save the dollar either, but it can keep it around longer than justified.
