I was teaching a workshop on Integrated Pest Management to some farmers. The problem with IPM is that when it works you don't see any problems. A lot of conventional agriculture focuses on solving infestation problems instead of addressing the root causes and preventing the problem from occuring.
This is a very abstract photo of water skaters on top of biofilm (a bacterial muck that forms on top of water). At the right angle and exposure it looks very scifi.
@nprofile1q... Do you have any advice for shooting ants? I've been trying recently but they are so fast I can hardly track them. Do you collect and put them in an enclosure? Or is it high shutter speeds and strong flashes to freeze the movement?
