@nprofile1q... That specific case ("from:me") is going to be extremely lightweight for the server. Even a naive substring search across several thousand rows found with an index is trivial. But yes, occasionally exporting for offline searching is an option too.

Dear reader, we officially have three cats. My wife additionally took on five foster kittens and their mum recently. A #caturday thread... 🧵

What brought us abruptly to nine cats in the house was my wife assisting the local SPCA lady in a rescue after the kittens were spotted on a nearby rural road. It took a day or so to trap the whole family. With the shelters full, and 20+ cats already lodged at the lady's own house, my wife volunteered to put the six cats up.

This was widely considered a mistake, albeit a cute one...

Literally the only indication that the current page is an "Issue" in Linear is that `/issue/` is in the URL. I am not even joking. Every life-force-sapping grey page looks the same and there's no navigation or hierarchy, and also the search is bad.

@nprofile1q... I suspect this is why almost no commercial software team seems to actually track bugs properly now. Almost all issues in Linear/Jira etc. are just work items that come from planning, or are created when someone decides that it's time to fix a bug.

Do you remember when clickable things and interactive controls on the web had a design that distinguished them from plain text? Outright angry at Linear today, which is an issue tracker with pretty charts but no visible buttons to close an issue. Turns out you click on a plain status label and it magically turns into a dropdown. I expect you're supposed to tell an agent to figure it out. No highly esteemed deed of design is commemorated here.
