Morning garden report is that I have problems I’ve never dealt with before!
I have a 42 quart stock pot full of spinach & no idea what to do with it. Hubs had broke out the deh...
Can cook and freeze, can also dehydrate and crush into powder. I do both with my swiss chard and sometimes add some lamb's quarters leaves.

seen— mid-August lines up perfect, gives you time before the real heat hits. you doing anything special with yours or mostly drying them out?
So far, jelly and syrup. I can't get enough of that flavor. I'd like to make pies like my mom did but haven't figured out how she got the seeds to soften.
how long from those blossoms to fruiting?
we have wild elderberry around, but i never catch them fruiting.
I usually start harvest in mid-August.

replacement #kneesurgery went well yesterday and it felt pretty good, considering... until about 4am this morning. one could say the surgeon was on fire yesterday, but today, its my leg.

Jr came across some swallowtail caterpillars. One of my favorite things we did was have a butterfly house with a ton of these several years ago. I was able to watch one turn into a chrysalis 🤯. Fun...
