However I bet that if you left a lot of shopping carts around parking lots, more people will also shirk doing it since they will believe no one else bothers to. So having some performative evidence around like uniformed conductors is probably good, just like grocery stores hire people to herd carts.

@nprofile1q... Oh, that actually does make some sense. The city should consider using some of the ad space on their vehicles to publicly humiliate disruptive riders who were caught without proof of fare.

People don't like feeling like dupes if anti-social behavior isn't punished. It becomes a race to get in on the looting first.
