We're going to keep doing this no matter what capital thinks, because it brings meaning and community to our lives. @nprofile1q... it's also a fundamental misunderstanding of why people value art. Art and music drive meaning from their connection to people, places, and times. I bought a Tav Falco CD not so long ago because dad had Tav Falco in his collection 30 years ago. The print of an etching of Blue Jays we bought on holiday in Quebec city amidst 20 years ago, that was expensive for us then, but so special now.

All this talk of digital cash ignores that most cash is already digital; the great majority of it exists as 1s and 0s in bank computers already.

When you read about how they were able to escalate privileges after the initial exploit, it's hard to overstate how bad the revealed architecture is from a security stand point. To me, it showed a total lack of appropriate security governance for a cloud provider, and should have been the death of the platform.

@nprofile1q... surely declaring that you think the laws of New Zealand do not apply to you should be an instant disqualification from gun ownership. And most things that are privileges and not rights. Why would we trust people who don't consider the law to apply to them to obey the road rules?
