In my opinion, there are two over-riding concerns.

The first is that transforming the computer from a machine that stores and indexes information, and retrieves it in response to queries, to a machine that generates responses to queries, is a potentially civilization-destroying threat.

The other is that "generative AI" inherently amplifies and feeds back any mental instability of the user, leading to cult-like behaviour, and already in some cases homicide or suicide.
