Maybe it's time to admit lightning did not deliver on its promises. The lightning whitepaper was more than 100 pages long. Bitcoin's was only 8.

It takes courage to admit you were wrong but in retrospect, the big blockers were right. Blockstream and the corporate money behind them are not our friends.

Dash had a nice balance with built in mixers, you could just push a button in the wallet and get an endless stream of mixing txs. Of course it's not as private as zec, but it was information theoretically sound if you didn't accidentally recombine your utxos after mixing.
