Yes, i already converted one into a full node, one inte a locall llm machine, one into a retro gaming pc.
The relay would be interesting, i probably could run it also on the full node and don’t need to run a nother 24/7 mini pc for it. Do you run your node/relay with start9?

Older pc hardware is insanely cheap. Just shot an i5 8th gen 6c/6t mini pc with 8gb ram for 65€. Shipping included. Add another 8 gigs of ram and an big ssd and you have a well powered node … a powerful NAS … a sleek htpc or retro gaming machine … Or even a small local AI server.

The only problem is: i can’t stop buying those cheap pcs πŸ˜…

Does anyone have more ideas for cool things to do with those kind of machines?

Yes an email server, use one for a yggdrasil node, & see if you can use another one to host a blossom server.
