Most conspiracy theorists and alternate historians have a blind spot in regards to the evidence.

They assume that the elite know and are hiding the truth.

But that's not the modus operandi.

For instance, the Bible talks about a race of giant. And there are rumors that hundreds of giant skeletons were found in America.

And the blind spot is the idea that all these skeletons have been hauled off to a federal warehouse and hidden.

But thats not their modus operandi.

The way these people work is they destroy.

If someone invents something that threatens the system... the inventor is murdered and the work destroyed.

If an artifact is found that challenges the historic narrative... the artifact is stolen and then destroyed.

I think this blindspot is trained into us through public education. The vain need for "sources" precludes critical thinking. Its the fallacy of the appeal to authority.

Therefore, if there is no evidence for an idea (that happens to be true), we will treat it as conclusively false.

Its impossible to have an accurate view of reality if you fall into this trap.

Evidence based reasoning is broken.

The correct way to reason is to look at the thing in question, then imagine all the possibilities, then assign probabilities to each possibility, and then view the answer as a range of possible truths.

I am not against evidence. Evidence informs the probabilities. But a lot of things are true and there is no evidence of such.

If a person wants to understand the world, they need to downplay evidence and upplay imagination. They need to consider everything that is objectively possible.

The vast majority of people prefer to live in a delusional fantasy world.. a pro social "go along to get along" world.

But for the truth seekers out there... are you falling for the fallacy of evidence based reasoning?

I pursued a classical education but society has degraded so much that I might as well have studied the classics of some alien planet.

Studying the classics of western civ is alienating now.
