A beginner shouldn't be installing operating systems. Go to a user group and find someone who loves installing the system to help people. I've never installed GNU/Linux, I never saw a point in learning how, there was always someone who could do it for me who already knew how and wouldn't make any mistakes.

There's a reason so few companies deploy anything on the Linux desktop, not because no one uses it, 6% market share is actually nothing to scoff at, that's a lot of people. It's because Linux users are the most clinically deranged people on the planet. There's a reason the only professional grade software available for Linux, that being DaVinci Resolve, only has a version available for fucking Rocky Linux, which is only used on corporate machines and is usually only installed by a vendor, hidden far away from anybody who would even entertain the idea of using Linux on a home machine.
