If you are in the UK, get a Pixel phone right now and install GrapheneOS.

Internet restrictions coming for us all in the name of 'protecting the children'.

Optional: You can also install LineageOS and MigroG inplace of Google Play Services (or roms that bundle them like iodeOS, Murena's eOS)

It’s relentless; how many different ways can they attempt to window-dress Digital ID… How do you think the UK government are going to react when they wake up to what Nostr is? I have popcorn at the ready 🍿

Everything you do now is just Digital ID by the backdoor. Been using graphine os for about 2 years now, great is. I always find it ironic that the only device secure enought for you to use it on is from one of the worst surveillance companies on the planet...but it works. 👍

Not sure using opera as a browser is a good idea, weren't they bought by the Chinese? Which would probably make their VPN a surveillance tool....

Opera is basic option (I agree there are much better options). We tried to pitch the guide so that anyone would be able to improve their privacy even a little bit - and not to confuse things too much by recommending too many options, although we do also cite Brave and Tor.

On a lighter note right now, I would prefer to be spies on by the Chinese than by my own government.

Privacy, and our basic freedoms, are under attack from all sides.

Incredibly, the so-called 'liberal democracies' are now leading these attacks; arresting their own citizens for posting online, rolling out facial recognition cameras, and moving to ban VPNs.

"What can men do against such reckless hate?" And are we losing this battle?

Absolutely not. There's still time to fight back, and we have much in our arsenal. @Bitcoin Policy UK has put together a 'Privacy Toolkit', that should let anyone, whatever their skill level, take a few small steps towards improving their privacy and their freedom, and making themselves just a little bit harder for governments to track and to oppress.

This isn't comprehensive, and we'll continue to update it as time goes by. We hope it's useful to everyone and serves as a handy guide to help us all push back against government overreach, wherever we find it.

Link to the full doc below and comments welcome
