Let me introduce you to William J. Kolomyjec (b. 1947), aka Dr. Bill.
He's been pioneering computer art since the early 1970s, while studying at MSU. He began creating art using an IBM 1800 DACS mainframe computer.
Below is Bulges&Dents with Epicycloids, Circles and Color #2. Part of his first Bitcoin Ordinals collection of historical computer artworks from 1970-1980.
Long before Pepe was a thing, William J. Kolomyjec (b. 1947) got inspired by his friend Charles Csuri and came up with the idea of Frog Pong.
Coded in FORTRAN on a CDC 6500 mainframe (super) computer and plotted out a Calcomp 936 drum plotter at Michigan State University during the artist's MFA/PhD studies.
They were indeed! 🤣 and minted everything onto the immutable blockchain. Which was one of the first L2s. And the most centralised one. Now they are on even a worse one if you ask me as they must prove themselves (GL lol)
