I’m always shocked at how everyone only talk about the income tax but omit the social security contributions part, because “it is paid by the employer” which of course is complete bullshit. In real terms at least 50% of the raw income is taken away by the State, and all public services are failing. This is so insane.

I think some poor dev had to do something quite quickly without a big design in mind and without knowledge of BTC and the community surrounding it.
They are working on this for a long time and it’s a massive change to their whole codebase, database and accounting principles. So no. @jack has been pushing this non sense (IMO) for a long time already.
FWIW I agree you don’t have to be an anarchist to use Bitcoin.
…But Bitcoin *is* an anarchist form of money.

Bitcoin is made of a set of rules and standards enforced by nodes runner. Yes, there are no rulers, but there are definitely rules. Does not seem to match the definition of anarchy very well, only partially.

WW1 killed roughly 1% of the world population.
WW2 killed roughly 3% of the world population.
The Black Death plague killed at least 20% of the world population.
The covid pandemic killed “only” 0.1% of the world population and that is assuming those numbers are not grossly exaggerated.
Don’t submit to the artificially created panic by WHO and other powerful institutions like this.
