Done cooking for our lunch, and the menu is... Kare-kare.

Kare-kare kind of day! That rich, peanuty sauce with tender meat and a good scoop of bagoong (shrimp paste) on the side just a comfort food for me, every time.

Honestly, I can never stop at just one serving. Who’s getting extra rice too? 👀🍚

This is LongSiLog — Longganisa, Sinangag (fried rice) , and ItLog (fried egg). I made this for hubby’s packed meal, so of course I cooked one for myself too. 😋 It’s typical Filipino meal, the kind of comfort food we grew up eating and never really get tired of.

It’s not something I’d call “super healthy,” but I think it’s fine when used in moderation, especially since I don’t deep-fry food all the time.

A simple kitchen staple, but definitely one of those things I always make sure we have at home.
