It’s a mixture of truth, lack of context, and people thinking they understand the law when they don’t.

I am on the registry if that’s what you’re asking. But how I got there was not as bad as is usually portrayed, but it was still wrong doing, for which I pled guilty (not a deal) and served every single day I was sentenced.

I find very few people are actually interested in the facts though.

I want to give a quick shout out to @npub12262q... for architecting and getting the new system going that will host all of my projects moving forward.

It is far beyond anything I would have been able to set up on my own, but he has been extremely patient and transparent every step of the way, teaching and explaining everything so I can administer this beast of a server.

I’ve learned a great deal, and will continue to learn a lot in the coming weeks, but I already have more confidence that the data belonging to the people trusting me to hold it for them is safe and secure.

A full write up on the experience is forthcoming, but I wanted to thank my fellow purple cat for the absolutely exceptional work and assistance.

I'm going to take an opportunity to remind you how important funding Open-Source development is, if you want it to be cutting edge and remain free.

Open-Source development takes every bit as many resources to produce as commercial alternatives, and very often the developers doing this work go completely unpaid. If #nostr is to grow and expand as an open protocol, we need to lead the way in funding development work that is important to us.

Since I am a #damus user, I am going to remind you that you can zap the team on their homepage! Damus as an organization conducts their development in the open, has a welcoming and responsive developer community, and brings the freedom of nostr to iOS in a professional way.

The team is wanting to expand to other platforms, and bring more choice to our ecosystem. Please join me in helping make sure they don't starve for their efforts. You can zap the Damus team at https://damus.io by clicking the "zap us" link at the top of the page.

** TheSameCat's relay is now available over Tor **
We have checked to make sure we were not incidentally blocking Tor traffic (we were not) and we have also configured a Tor Onion Service address, for bypassing DNS level blocks of our relay.

You may now sign up at: http://2jsnlhfnelig5acq6iacydmzdbdmg7xwunm4xl6qwbvzacw4lwrjmlyd.onion

~and~

You can add ws://2jsnlhfnelig5acq6iacydmzdbdmg7xwunm4xl6qwbvzacw4lwrjmlyd.onion to your relay list in your client, if you usually use Nostr with Tor.

This was tested using Orbot + Damus and worked very smoothly. Please let me know if you have connection issues.

We believe in supporting censorship-resistant, free speech and privacy protecting technologies as we are able. We will be looking into i2p in the coming weeks.

That there are way more developers than there are developers who actually understand how software works. That software has become an inverted pyramid growing ever smaller at the lower layers close to the hardware, and ever larger at the top.

This leads to system instability, poor performance, and a general stifling of innovation. Computers have not substantially changed in 50 years. It’s just layers upon layers of code, some of which very few people even understand anymore.

There are a few privacy features I’d love to see added (if they’re not already) that I’d pay monthly for in a heartbeat. A big one:

- On device EXIF stripping on uploads so I don’t have to care where they’re uploaded

Maybe on payday I need to look at those bounty things. I just don’t usually have a bunch of spare sats, but offer me a sub and I’m a goner.
