How do you feel about WEB? I have issues with the word of God being copyrighted, so I got my wife a WEB Bible, but she is used to NIV.

WEB and LSB both are formal equivalent translations that use "Yahweh" instead of LORD.

I don't have problem with commercial translations, although I'd like to see those texts eventually (in a century+) be put into the public domain, too. People shouldn't have to work for free.

I'd be willing to bet the LSB is the better translation over the WEB. I've heard the WEB is stiff, probably stiffer than the NASB, which the LSB set out to improve without losing it's formal equivalence.

The ESB shown here leverages eclectic texts to produce a flowy, modern English that still attempts to hang on to some literal nature. In this way, trades off some literalness in order to achieve it's easy reading, flowyness.

The LSB and ESV (2025) are my favorite translations at present, even though my first Bible was KJV (which is a very beautiful and timeless translation).

Beyond study, I like to keep an immersive reader for simply being with God, and enjoying His Word like a novel.
