Aspiring to be a delightfully cranky combination of Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg.

Kind, not nice.

Be the Shire you wanna see in the world. Fighting fascism with coziness, art and snacks.

Practicing a combination of hearthcraft and Irish polytheism.

Unsolicited advice on my posts will piss me off.

Devotee of Brighid.

Back when I was on Spotify I used to listen to a fair bit of jazz. Especially in the realm of like soft jazz.

No lyrics, or excitable brass.

It appears I never ported over those playlists when I left and now I've been missing it.

Anyone got any recs for me? Think music that is good background for reading, winding down.

I can't help but think about the fact that at many protests people cover their faces and identifying tattoos and leave their hands visible.

Just a random thought that popped into my head while reading this, surely it's not related at all.

Finished up a book series tonight... I think I love it?

This author's views of the world often do seem to coincide with mine from what I can gather thru their writing and the author's note at the end of one of their books.

It didn't end how I thought but also it was perfect. I was worried for the last 100 pages that we were gonna go with "poignant" ending instead of satisfying.

This series is likely to wind up in the comfort reads rotation.

Picked up two new games today after my doctor's appointment.

Sushi Go!
Spirit Island

Looking forward to trying them both out. Had a peep at the rules for Spirit Island and it looks a biiit involved? But I think it'll be okay. Probably will play it the first few times in the afternoon vs after dinner.

Saw a take recently that said we've grown too comfortable cutting off family members for small frictions.
When I commented that we weren't doing it for giggles he said no, we were doing it for ease.
I just... For ease? Like it's easy? Seriously?

I'll agree that there is a large chunk of a generation that is making that choice. But it's not because it's easy or trendy. We're a generation reacting to how we were raised. And frankly it sucks

Braved the heat for an Urban Sketchers event.

I really love this painting, it was in the same area of Coquitlam as my first urban sketchers event back in March... gosh I've grown as an artist so much since then.
