Many new Bitcoin only meetups have started when a meetup becomes too shitcoin focused. Bitcoin only meetups require strong leadership.

This should have been published as a longform nostr note... this is essentially my feedback for you. I agree with you on some points, namely that nostr development spent way too much energy on kind1 clients, which, IMHO, are the lowest signal feed.

Nostr is excellent for discoverability. I searched high and low for this article after I heard @Eric FJ 🪬⚡️ mention it on his pod. If you share it as a long form nostr note I can feature it on the localbitcoiners.com website https://localbitcoiners.com/feeds#articles

I also disagree with the idea of shilling an app without the user understanding that the data layer in the app is interoperable across the nostr ecosystem. It may not seem like such a benefit now, but nostr is in its infancy.

The more data that ends up on nostr the more we can build awesome clients around that data. I'm sure you agree on the NIP-99 stuff, so why not also with NIP-23 (longform)?

So hard fork. Do you have any solutions that are not a hard fork? Neither do I. And so I've learned to accept that if people are transacting following consensus rules I'm just going to have to deal with it even if I don't like it.

If you supported BIP110 you supported a hard fork. If you told someone to run a BIP110 node you were advising them to run a hard fork of Bitcoin and not Bitcoin. It was always a hard fork. The people who pointed this out were threatened and slandered as pedophiles.

If you want to have a conversation about how much you don't like the way people are using Bitcoin, you're going to need to come up with actual solutions and not try to force unworkable garbage hard forks on people with actual technical concerns.
