It's good to be media literate, but I think Gen Z tends to over-analyze and over-criticize everything to the point where they can't enjoy anything.

@nprofile1q... i'm in favor of analysis and criticism, but i think what's happening with GenZ is more fandom + social media algorithms where negative engagement is the most sticky. that's how you end up with a thousand 30min YouTube videos with with a soy face thumbnail titled "IT'S OVER" every time a new episode of something drops.

probably one of the most cursed things about the job application process now is that at the end of it, they all want you to join their little human resources social network. i can't fathom why anyone would ever want to do that. if i'm early career, look, i'm getting fragged from multiple angles all day long, i don't need a reminder of every job i didn't get. if i'm late career, i'm using my actual professional network to find jobs, not the Potemkin one dreamed up by the HR department.

remember when Meta told everyone to pivot to video so they did, but it turned out to be wrong/fraud, but every single news website **still** has a fucking little autoplay video that follows you around?? that literally no one asked for and everyone hates??? that's what this is.

scroll far enough on Reddit and you start getting the videos of Indian cops just whaling on misbehaving people with huge sticks
