They you also get things like OpenRouter that add yet another layer, layer of confusion. They claim to be local etc but they still gave a create account, what for? And you also have a subscription, are they a paid service? What do I pay for? Access to models or routing features?

So if I don't understand the different layer involved, then I cannot understand what levels are interchangebal, and then what claims are overlapping in all those claims. In the end I have no clue what I can mix and match. The result is I get overwhelmed and simply to he the one solution that has one single download button and gives me all the things I want by obscuring everything others overwhelmed me with.

Recent example for me is AI-led software development. You can understand that you need an IDE and a coding agent, but then the coding agents tells you they have their own desktop app, and their own CLI, and they bring models, and you can also bring your own models, and that I want to use them with my favorite editor, which also claims to come with models. So how are the models of. The provider different than the editor and the coding agent? And what is even openclaw?
