Pagan. Greek learner. Welsh.

Cursed by poetry, with no hope the night will end. At least, not in this incarnation. Έτσι είναι η ζωή.

I feel old, and weary. Time is an illusion. The same phrase, always, in my heart: "I want to go home "

Header: Wheel of Hekate; white patterned, perforated disc, on "starfield" background

Avatar: black & white image, dark background; bearded male, short hair, round spectacles, pipe in mouth, staring at camera. Side of head to left of image in shadow.

Undertones

The wind gives its breath
to voices heard in the trees,
carried on the storm;
words of elder gods, damning
man for forgetting the past.

#FediCoven Q14 What, if anything, does “the thinning of the veil” mean to you? What realm lies beyond the other side?

I do not believe that the time of year has any literal impact.

Our expectations might.

The veil is as thin as our perceptions allow.

What's on the other side? How should I know? I'm not there.

#ScribesAndMakers <9 Our next featured creator is a 'relentless optimist.' How full is your glass?

It was very full a short time back.

Now, it is very empty.

I, however, have mysteriously become slightly inebriated during this process.

8th Oct 2026. Our next featured creator is a poet, potter, author, and crafter. Do you engage in multiple creative activities or stick to one?

What counts as creative?

I write, make tea and coffee, practice my mandolin, do some gardening.

All of this creates something, if only a mess...

Uncertain Seeker

When I raise up my eyes
to night-worn sky,
and try to read some sign
left graven, there,
what would you have me see,
revealed in fire?

Should I look, rather, down,
to cold, rough stones
enshrined, before my gaze,
hoping they hold
some rune to guide me home,
though so long lost?

I trust no messages,
or oracles.
I seek no map, or chart,
drawn in vain stars.
Let Night refuse to speak
when words mean nought.
