Putting a lot of effort into becoming an A class shooter. I don’t know why I got so obsessed with this classification but I just want to get there and stop thinking about it. At the same time a class doesn’t mean much if you suck at shooting regular stages. I’m afraid this is where I am right now. I want to consistently deliver good performance, not only when passing the tests. Anyway, A class performance in the video attached, enjoy

I traveled all the way to Florida where I took classes with one of the best shooters of America. There I shot a match with 8 classifiers and finally I officially hit a B class.
Now I am a B class shooter in carry optics 😎
I celebrated for 5 minutes and immediately started working on becoming an A class shooter 🙈

Spent the entire weekend shooting from 9am till 4pm. Took a fundamentals class with Brantley Merriam – one of the best shooters of America.
Spent 1500 rounds in 2 days and absolutely happy. Brantley fixed so many problems I’ve been struggling with, especially my footwork and running.
Getting ready for another competition this weekend. I’m gonna hit all matches till I get broke from buying so much ammo.

This classifier stage will be there tomorrow at the match that I’m gonna shoot. I was lucky to have access to it and practice this stage yesterday. I did around 10 runs and I hit A class in almost every run. Sometimes B. That’s an absolutely mind blowing level up in my performance.
Let’s see how I do it tomorrow at the match. If I shoot this match at B level I will become an official B finally.

A week ago I participated in my first outdoor match. I was very scared to try it but deep down I knew it was time to get out of my comfort zone. If I want to start shooting at a more serious level I must get used to shooting outside. It is more difficult than indoor shooting for many reasons:
First of all the stages are more difficult, there are more targets, there are various types of targets and bigger distances.
Secondly it is extremely hard to move and be stable on the gravel and dirt.
Weather conditions affect your shooting too, you have to spend all day outside waiting for your turn to shoot. It becomes a torture when it’s too hot.
Moreover direct aggressive sun made my red dot so tiny, I could barely see it and multiple times I completely lost it and it ruined my shooting time. The lesson learned: now I shoot fully occluded with a black tape.
Those are not excuses though, I still went there and did it, and I did surprisingly well: I am 12th out of 29 people in carry optics division, with 74% (out of winner’s 100%) which is a very decent performance.
I shot 5 stages with one classifier. I failed the classifier but it did not upset me, I’ll do better next time.
