Yank here. Is Shrove Tuesday equivalent to Mardi Gras, or is it more low key? Just Anglican, or would Catholic parishes observe?

I’m thinking our advantages are fifty states arbitage of various regulations, 2nd amendment, and not nearly as far along the dystopian totaliarian state path, and those two big oceans of separation.

I’m in the US. Family has a farm in Ireland.
After my first visit back in 25 years, I dropped my plan to apply for dual citizenship, through my grandfather.

I think most of Europe is cooked for the foreseeable future.

Court is a miserable place. Been for work (non competes), neighborhood, and a divorce. Nothing happens on time, schedules are ‘advisory’ at best, and some judges sure seem to just make shit up as they go.
Hang in there, it ending will take a weight off.
