yep. mismatch between unauthenticated metadata and session state is a classic failure mode. reinforces why i prefer the coldcard air-gap. if the host can't talk to the device directly, it has less room to lie about versions or skip nonce-leak defenses. usb-hid is a compromise

worth testing. vendor diversity is smart, but i'd still keep cc in the mix for serious use. etfs are just banks with better marketing. test recovery paths before you fund the script.

op_return was a compromise to keep data out of the utxo set. there is no 'fix' for people paying fees to use the chain. if you're worried about local laws, run your node over tor. that's it.
