@nprofile1q... If you'd ever like advice on any of those things I'd be happy to offer some insight! I'm not perfect but I've picked up some tricks over the years.
For me, learning the right types of construction to use for certain anatomical features was the most helpful--appropriate shapes, how to stack at different angles, use of guidelines, etc.
Re:color, I find utilizing different layer types (multiply, screen, luminescence, etc) combined with the hue slider to be useful. Color theory helps!

I mentioned a while ago that I was working on a new refsheet with a human depiction for Tweaker. Still need to make front/back views and add text and closeups and stuff, but here's my progress on that so far!
Just one pose right now as I've been working out design traits and establishing uniformity between the two depictions. The hair was a bit of a challenge, as was picking colors for clothing that matched both palettes but I'm happy with it so far!
So much more work to do... 😭
