Install fedora then install Claude code. In Claude code your system will be apart of the context and yours plans and responses will be more accurate.

debian if you want less updates (which can be more stable), or arch if you always want all the newest packages all the time

If you try KDE and it gets annoying, dont give up on Linux. I personally find KDE to be heavy, fluffy, slow because of animations and buggy but if you like it you like it. Debian or a Debian based system for a first timer lol. Arch can be a little difficult at first sometimes.

Gonna work on making the shift from Windows to Linux. Looking at Fedora.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I prefer GUI, though can do terminal stuff with the help of Claude. If there's some one-time stuff to setup via CLI that's fine, but for the majority of the time I'd like to not have to use a terminal. #asknostr

Linux Mint Cinnamon if you don't mind systemd. On Mint it seems most everything is GUI. Even the fingerprint reader setup is now a GUI. MX Linux of you want to avoid systemd. MX uses sysinit instead.

If you've never used Linux before, I would start with Zorin. It's basically Ubuntu made for Windows users. No terminal necessary because everything just works, including Windows apps.

As a first timer I would always opt for Ubuntu. Biggest community, biggest app support via various package repositories and easy to understand. Gui is clean simple and complete. Just create an Ubuntu 26.04 start up disk, boot into it and, if everything is working, install it. If you don’t like Ubuntu then go Fedora.

Fedora ia very well put together and well maintained. Super active. Latest software. Update regularly. Consider kde if you like the way windows feels, I like gnome.
