I welded a draw bar to my shop crane so I can slide it into the receiver hitch of my truck. It is awesome, and I wish I did it sooner! I was able to get this bed from the backyard which still has pretty deep snow.

Testing out vinnegar, salt, hydrogen peroxide solution for dissolving copper to release gold foils. Seems to work fine.

Im getting back into scrap metal, but this time im going to try micro scrapping as well. Trying to recover precious metals as a hobby before bringing in the shred for scrap.

Just to be on the absolute safe side, I would make sure to have a battery capable of putting out 2.5 amps. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. #Meshtastic #MeshCore nos...

Yup, and if voltage sags in the cold (-30c), this happens. Volts down, amps up. The dc-dc boost converter didnt like the abuse. That's part of the reason I'm switching to NiCd batteries, and Li-Ion batteries freak me out unattended in a forest, because of fire risk, abused from charging in the cold too...

I removed the blown converter and it still works when powering the base board and transmitter board individually, so using it with 5v external now.

Operating at low battery percentage probably could do it too... I guess.

Just bought a bunch of NiCad batteries to use in my Meshtastic/Meshcore nodes instead of lithium ions... Well see how well they work, but I think it'll be safer especially since they are unattended in a forest, and maybe they will work better in the harsh winter temps (-30c frequently).

I've had bad voltage sags on cold days from my lithium ion batteries that cause weird reboots and other stuff. Probably hard on the batteries charging in the cold too.

I absolutely don't want to start a forest fire in the summer because of a hurt battery, from my dumb mesh nerd activities.
