No, just get one. They’re pretty basic machines, like an electric kettle but instead of bringing to a boil it just holds temp steady so they all do the same job. Worth the investment!

Could Saylor at any moment decide fuck it and become the new bear whale or does he need board approval? Does the entire market depend on him?
Quackman profile picture
I don’t think so, and I’ll tell you why.

If he decides to smash sell all his coins, he tanks the market and the majority of his stash will be sold for pennies on the dollar. He basically bankrupts his company and nukes his entire networth for a flash crash with a most probable flash recovery shortly after. Highly unlikely if you ask me. Even in a gun-to-head kind of situation..

If he takes his time to sell the stash, markets price it in. We roughly know the size of his stash, and the extents of his potential sell pressure. It can’t last forever so the price will probably drop for a while, but not dramatically, I think..

As they said in the old days, you need Bitcoin, not the other way around. My best guess is this applies here too.

Personally I don’t believe other OG’s when they say they have reached a state of bitcoin zen. 1. Because OG’s talk and I hear stories privately of people freaking out about price action. 2. ...

It depends on the OG-ness of said Bitcoiner, I guess..

If the average buy price of a meaningful stash was an order of magnitude lower than the BTC price today and they’re freaking out then I guess they weren’t really Bitcoiners after all. You know, low time preference and such..

Looking for a solid RPG to play with kids, age roughly 9 years old. Doesnt have to be new. Bonus points for life lessons in the story, preferably on Switch.

Any advice is welcome!

Bitcoin faces this risk too or is it already battle hardened enough because it’s been in the open for so long?

The bounty for “breaking bitcoin” is pretty fucking big. There’s a multi-billion dollar prize to be won for finding a way to move someone else’s coins without having the keys.

Given Bitcoin has been around for 17 years, all code is available to anyone with a laptop, and the price has been up for grabs since day 1, we can slowly start to conclude that it’s highly unlikely such an exploit is possible at the code base layer.

Good to hear. By the sound of it, I suppose you’re already way ahead of the herd.

My oldest (10) is the only kid in his class/football team/neighbourhood/friend group without his own tablet.. luckily he’s a good kid and he understands why we do what we do (we’re open and vocal about it). It also keeps us in check: no phones during dinner, movies, games, social interactions etc.

But goddamn I hate to say it.. I’m extremely pessimistic for the coming generation(s). We’ve had 10 year olds come over who couldn’t watch a 90-minute movie because the attention span just wasn’t there.. 8 year olds coming to a sleepover with a tablet and a powerbank, unable to play boardgames because of the patience required.. 3 year olds who can’t go more than an hour without watching some YouTube.. it’s gruesome once you see it with your own eyes..

And don’t even get me started on the attention-cancer they call Roblox (35M active *daily* users in the US and Europe <16!!)
Whatever you do, stay as far away from that shit as you can.

My generation likes to dump on the boomers for fucking everyone over financially and leaving us with nothing, but I think what we’re doing to the kids now is an order of magnitude worse. We’re destroying their future so we can get fat and lazy. At least the boomers got rich enough to leave us with a nice inheritance…

My daughter has a 5yo cousin on my missus’ side who can’t sit through a dinner without a screen, he’ll lose the plot after 15-20 minutes of play and can’t regulate himself without a video or game on a phone; we’ve seen it and we reject it. I’m sure it’s easy to say that and the realit...

As you say, I think you’ve managed to articulate something that a lot of people feel deep down, but can’t put into words.

I’m trying to raise the kids on a higher standard, but when all their peers are “delulu”, it’s like fighting the tide..

I believe >60% of 4 year olds have their own tablet in my country, and you can bet your ass they don’t spend 20 minutes a day on it. I personally think that the next 10-15 years, when the “screens since birth” generation comes of age, are going to be… interesting.
