I've been reading the #book "Clear Thinking" by Shane Parrish and can highly recommend it if you are interested in upgrading your life. It's foundational and even though I know most of the things Parrish talks about, it's such a great summary, to the point with clear examples, that I would reread it anytime, just to refresh the teachings. It's packed with #wisdom and a true guide to the #goodlife.
"What happens in ordinary moments determines your future. We’re taught to focus on the big decisions, rather than the moments where we don’t even realize we’re making a choice. Yet these ordinary moments often matter more to our success than the big decisions. This can be difficult to appreciate." -- Shane Parrish
"In order to get the results we desire, we must do two things. We must first create the space to reason in our thoughts, feelings, and actions; and second, we must deliberately use that space to think clearly." -- Shane Parrish
"What you push down doesn’t vanish. It festers and wields quiet power over your thoughts and actions. What needs to be addressed that isn’t currently being addressed?"
"Every act of conscious learning requires the willingness to suffer an injury to one's self-esteem. That is why young children, before they are aware of their own self-importance, learn so easily; and why older persons, especially if vain or important, cannot learn at all." --Thomas Szasz
