How do you Title your Posts?: https://taonaw.com/2026/10/22/how-do-you-title-your.html

I’ve been writing headlines since college and never settled on a capitalization convention, which is why the titles on my blog are inconsistent. I looked up the AP Stylebook, which used to be my guide, but it made things worse. Back to the drawing board.

Afternoon Walks like these are one of my best life hacks. Boosts the mood and allows perspective that can narrow down to a tunnel vision during work. 📷

I love how one blog led me to another, which led me to a cool IndieWeb thing, which got me to write an email, which put me in a good mood to write a quick post like this. IndieWeb is live and well, and it’s good to have colorful blogs in the morning before I dive into the grind.

On Pages that aren't Pages: https://taonaw.com/2026/10/19/on-pages-that-arent-pages.html

Marisabel is hosting this month’s IndieWeb Carnival, and the theme is Pages. What do pages mean to me? The paper notebooks that never stuck, the Denote info-notes, and the other writing that isn’t measured… Is that good, bad, or neither?

Glove80: One Month In: https://taonaw.com/2026/10/17/glove-one-month-in.html

One month with the Glove80: RSI is gone, but so is my WASD as a gamer. My thumbs now expect function keys that no other keyboard has. I cringe at normal keyboards now. Short version: I turned into a keyboard snob

It's not Enough, but it's Something: https://taonaw.com/2026/10/15/its-not-enough-but-its.html

The Cornell case and why the real work is the awkward conversation with the men around you. I’ve heard those jokes at work too, and I stayed quiet because the cost of speaking up was too high.

It's Time to Wipe my Desktop: https://taonaw.com/2026/10/14/its-time-to-wipe-my.html

Wiping your computer is like moving. You promise yourself you’ll label the boxes this time, then spend a week hunting for a script that lets you rotate videos in MPV with a hotkey.

Finished Silo season 3, and I have questions. Of course I do. That’s why they’re making season 4.

The big one is still why. I was glad when Juliette started pushing people to ask that too, and I like that it was a good catalyst for what eventually led to the survival of Silo 18 at the end.

What I don’t like are all the clichés and the parallel storyline which, while important to the show and interesting in its own right, was ... https://taonaw.com/2026/10/12/finished-silo-season-and-i.html

One thing I’m enjoying over at Bubbles is the non-tech blogs. Every other blog list I visit is usually mostly tech-related stuff, and then it’s usually developers. I’m a techie myself, and I don’t have anything against developers, but it’s nice to see more blogs about humans just being humans. https://bubbles.town/

Emacs Config Gems - Part 6: https://taonaw.com/2026/10/11/emacs-config-gems-part.html

Part 6 of my Emacs config gems: abbrevs, and the two grammar checkers I tried. Harper is fast and light but basic; LanguageTool is thorough but needs Java and 10GB to get close (but not quite) to the online version. I don’t really use either today.

I Don't Miss the Good Old Days: https://taonaw.com/2026/10/09/i-dont-miss-the-good.html

The old web was a lot of work, and I don’t miss it because we have its best part today. I have better tools, better people, and a life I can lead without adult supervision. Risky? Probably. Fun? Hell yeah.

Thoughts about Silo: https://taonaw.com/2026/10/06/thoughts-about-silo.html

The clichéd portrayal of AI in “Silo,” questioning its logic and the narrative choice to keep inhabitants in the dark instead of promoting knowledge and transparency. But it makes me grumpy, so, win?
