Start off by stacking Bitcoin in pub co to "hedge inflation" --> dominate news cycle, podcast circuit for years --> community lauds the strategy as novel --> distracted with NGU suitcoiner narratives --> bitcoins centralize, cultural values erode --> Bitcoin development reflects the general state of the user base, distracted/adrift from the roots of what makes Bitcoin sound

Maybe that line of thinking is off base, but I can see how something like that could definitely happen.

Matt. Respectfully. I know you are a busy man but I'm willing to bet that nothing that you have to do (workwise) is more important right now than to engage with these arguments and contend with them....

Matt Kratter is dead ass right in this video. I'll never forget a moment about 18 months ago when I was listening to RHR and scrolling around on twitter or nostr I came across a comment. Someone said about Guy Swanns pod: "this podcast is what RHR used to be"

That got my attention as a long time RHR listener. Matt and Marty were huge in my conversion from a poocoiner to Bitcoin - telling me to go to meet ups, run a node, stay humble and stack sats. Now their podcast was different, and when I read the comment it hit home for me.

I continue to listen, they do a good job covering news and updates - but it isn't the same podcast. Matt K is correct, the past year or two has really diverged & there's been intentional avoidance of topics that would be hard for investors or could pose risks to grantees work.

The decentralization, and security arguments I have encountered fail the smell test. They occur 2 or 3 levels above what the root problems are with the Bitcoin network today.

Completely blowing out datacarriersize because things like slip stream exist - well slip stream exists because of cheap fiat credit enabled by $MARA pub co status & the incentives that are derived from large pubco miners.

If pubco miners were exposed 100% to the free market, their incentives would be forced to align with low time preference & long term health of the Bitcoin network.
