Most likely the exchange’s QR scanner has limited BIP21 support. If Alby generates a Bitcoin URI instead of just a plain address, some exchanges fail to parse it. Copying the address manually or using a QR with only the raw address usually solves the issue.

QR codes rarely work for me on the desktop PC. Doesn't matter if it's a stream, an exchange or whatever. Well, sometimes they do work if I tilt my phone long enough in front of the screen or close the blinds to remove any rest-light reflecting on the monitor. But yeah, QR codes are kinda shait.
