We were at Southampton Mela today.

OBVIOUSLY we have eaten good food that's a shade spicier than we're comfortable with, and OBVIOUSLY we listened to excellent live music.

It was good.

I know it's boring to talk about your dreams, but I just wanted to say that I woke up from a dream where I won the opportunity to do my weekly shop with Keir Starmer, which I used as an opportunity to tell him all the ways in which he and his government have disappointed me.

Tonight we're watching The Sheep Detectives, which, enjoyable though it is, is one of those Anglo-American productions where it's set in England, it looks like England, but there's a bunch of stuff that's American. Like the rival shepherd driving about in a '60s American pick up truck, the postie wearing a blue uniform that says 'Postal Service', the butcher having a garish neon sign.

I don't know why productions do this. Surely it makes everyone slightly uneasy because it's all just a bit off.

Anyone who followed me today because I posted a link to a silly video on YouTube is gonna be mighty disappointed that the rest of my feed is Linux, #ThePlaylist, Linux, bitching about work, bitching about Linux, shitposts, and Linux.

Holy shit! The literal video version of Total Eclipse of the Heart is on YouTube again. I remember looking for a few times, but I guess it kept falling foul of copyright strikes.

Anyway, in honour of the memory of the great Bonnie Tyler, enjoy one of the finest things YouTube has ever hosted.

We just got back from a food festival in our local park, where I had curry goat and a half of quite strong cider.

As we were leaving, a line dancing troupe was taking to the bandstand to show off their moves. I reflected that there's something about line dancing that makes me cringe, and then it hit me: line dancing is the whitest form of dancing there is. To me, as a non-expert on dance, there's nothing about it that's wild and free like so many other forms. It's not based in a taboo, or an oppression of any kind. It's just white folks following the rules as a team.

Anyway, the curry goat (with rice and peas) was tremendous, and I've got a two pint jug of the cider in the fridge, chilling just nicely.
