HDMI forum prohibited AMD from writing a fully open source driver supporting all the HDMI features the HW could support. That's enough for me to wish them ill.

@nprofile1q... Yet AMD is currently finally pushing HDMI 2.1 features. The best assumption I've read so far is that they're going with the clean-room approach, a dedicated team that knows nothing about the standard reverse-engineering it since that's legal.
