Cities are places where you have 11 neighbors you have never met, where you walk by a stranger on the sidewalk without greeting them, where you can't chat with the people in line at the grocery store ...
We are supposed to live connected to Nature, but cities are as far removed as we can get from that. They're temples of the mind/ego. That's also where we invent reasons to waste land that could nurture life, then reward those wasting it with money and social status that has no real value. I don't know what happens in the dark alleys and streets of America's cities every night, but I have a feeling it isn't very good
