absolutely. and for reasons of gaining experience in a field i want to get into i'm going to run a model on rented compute and build a custom harness :) i've learned a lot about how to get the best out of the tools over the last 6 months and the harness is definitely also anthropic's weak point, after the dumbass in charge's influence. he's also responsible for the two features of the model that i worked for months to figure out how to neuter - helpful and safe. my experience with my setup is so different to the standard experience it was shocking for me today, applying for a job with perplexity for their back-ends, they wanted me to have a chat with perplexity and share it with them. stupid robot was trying to sell me shared memory execution model while i was asking it about the subject of architecture that eliminates precisely this.
