This is not a trust me bro issue, ive been using Bitcoin since 2012 and have been going deep on privacy for 5 years. Ive studied exactly how chain analysis attacks much more private coins like Monero....
I also agree private by default is the way forward.... Hopefully decentralized and censorship resistant too.
