@nprofile1q... Absolutely. If you just want to play games you totally don’t use the latest stuff. My PC from 2014 still runs fine!! Sure I upgraded to 32gb of ram (ddr3) once and also bought an rtx 2070 in 2020 (?). The rest is from 2014. But if you want to do serious computing, which I want to do for my masters degree, it sucks.
