In my search for a new #Sharkey server to join, one of my criteria has been that it not be located in a place where the government has or is working on a broad social media ban, for fear that these servers will be shut down.

Problem: most Fedi servers are hosted in one of those places.

Chat, am I being dumb? Should I just pick a server now and migrate later if the local government really is crazy enough to start shutting down Fedi sites?
