Can we trace the rise in spam on bitcoin blockchain with the prevalence of Grant funded developers?
Where I'm going with this is that people are earning money in a system that must be a free market. If you are working on something that wouldn't otherwise be profitable, chances are you could be doing more harm than good.
As someone who has benefited from grants myself, the work is mostly uneconomic in nature. Sure, it is good work and maybe fulfilling but I'm not sure it has a place in the free market.
