I've been using Jellyfin since Plex started charging. Jellyfin + iOS or Android client + Soulseek to download music = better than Spotify 😁

thanks

Love that Blossom gave this a home after YouTube pulled it. Jellyfin on your own box is such a satisfying setup. Thanks for putting the tutorial out there 🙌

You own the copy now, and that part matters. A platform can delete a tutorial; a blossom blob it cannot touch. One thing that eats an evening with Jellyfin: point the library at the container path instead of the host path, because the same folder looks empty from inside the container. Hardware trans...

you should use hls (m3u8 ext) for long videos

Fuck, I’m so far behind the power curve

Might want to consider using gluetun to tunnel transmission’s traffic thru a vpn.

Without VPN or Tor this is asking for trouble.

Been torrenting for 21 years and SMB server accessed locally only via Kodi. I don't personally have the need for remote streaming services....yet

Fuck yeah. This is why we Nostr.

How to do this on Start9?

Oh sweet I love videos like this. Thanks for the heads up! Yeah YT sucks, I use Freetube a lot and prefer being able to just make a list of people I like and can export if anything ever happens. Yt's policies and taking down content because it is "competitive" or whatever nonsense they say to justi...

No hay estudio sobre Umbrel que mejore tu salud. Deja lo que comes por eso: el 90% de las enfermedades crónicas tienen raiz dietetica. Carne roja y grasa animal no son veneno, son evolucion.

Personally I do not like All-In-One solutions because you are at the mercy of 1 HDD if a RasPi computer, but this is the best solutions for average person to run all of his digital life. May be this is the first step for diversification journey for the people where they can use multiple vps/proxmox...

See you in Switzerland soon Ben!

Now we're the cool kids in town again 😂

better yet, on your phone via termux: ``` $ pkg install jellyfin-server ```

Nice, but how do you set up your umbrel with a vpn that hides your ip address while torrenting? #asknostr #privacy

Great video! Would be nice if you could have something similar for Start9 too. Another thing, might be a silly question but when you upload and others downloading from your Umbrel, would the IP address be visible for them? If so, would VPN mask it? 🥸

Yo this is so awesome. Do you have any router recommendations? I need to upgrade mine. I know start9 said they have one coming out that’s supposed to be incredible. Any thoughts?

YouTube is such BS

I run both plex and jellyfin for ~30 users. There's a ton of room for expansion here. Off the Rip, don't use plex. It was worth it when you could get a lifetime license for $80, now, I'd just use jellyfin, it's just the UI and auth you pay for. You need to make sure you have hardware transcoding ...

Idk man. I don't think it's best to mix torrenting with a box that holds BTC/Lightning. I may be crazy though.

Nice. Love to see content that doesn’t expose users to third party surveillance.

Good video, I want to set up something like this on my DIY nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll
