I really dislike how phones put geotags in the photos by default. Maybe #amhetyst could warn you before uploading them? Or even strip them for you. Although I usually prefer to do striping by myself, ...
I have “Location Services” completely disabled on my iPhone, for all apps, for this reason of privacy leakage.
I will turn it on when I’m being a tourist and need my location to show on maps and such, plus I don’t mind the geotagging of my photos then. This puts me in control, and I take the responsibility of knowing when I have it turned on and when I have it turned off.
